Psalm 21

The commentators agree that Psalm 21 begins with praise of God’s care for the trusting, earthly king. Where commentators differ is over the capitalization of the word “you.” For in Hebrew pronouns lack capitalization. Is the focus of the second half’s descriptions of military victories praising the earthly king, or the Divine, or as a subtle description of the partnership of the two? Come and study this artfully woven Psalm and its description of the fulfillment of desires even before expressed and the crushing of enemies.
